The Membership

Founders Lab is equipped to provide support for work in various mediums within a variety of disciplines. Our mission is to assist artists, makers and creators in building socially engaging projects. Those selected would enjoy the membership program and all the benefits of the Lab.

Eligibility

The work submission is open to all professional artists, designers & makers.

While we hope to support those developing their creative careers, or discovering their creative paths through the use of Founders Lab, we want to be mindful of artists in every stage of their development. We are further aware of the unique challenges facing artists identifying as Black and Indigenous people of color, and artists having less access to build capacities and creative resources; we therefore hope to use this program to amplify their works and their voices.

Sliding-scale structure

We will offer a sliding-scale membership fee structure to those selected, based on their situation, with consideration to time commitment. This could mean a substantial reduction in membership fee depending on the artist’s context.

What We Offer

The Lab space can be utilized for a variety of projects. Past projects have included content creation (audio & video), photography, sculpture, and design (graphic, architectural, scenic, lighting, and 3D visuals. Further, we have a full service metal/wood shop with industry-standard equipment, capable of furniture design and building. In addition to the studio and co-working spaces outlined, we can further provide degrees of modification for the space to better accommodate the projects artists propose to complete at the Lab.

Woodworking shop, Supplies and materials (wood, metal and props), Staging room for builds, Gallery, street-level, loading area, Kitchen, WIFI , Storage Space, Loft Access, 24 hour Access
